“Come into My World” by Kylie Minogue

Kylie Minogue’s “Come into My World” features some very-colorful metaphors, but ultimately the main idea being presented isn’t anything even remotely complicated. Rather the singer is inviting the addressee, most simply put, to be her lover.

And considering that she is indeed inviting him, then the implication would be that they have not gotten together as of yet. And she is entreating him to become a part of ‘her world’ quite literally, i.e. making like the two of them were meant to be.

In other words, as the vocalist perceives it, she exists to please him. Or viewed alternatively, up until this point she has gone without a special someone in her life. So now that she has met this person, her desire to have him transcends the realm of want and is actually a ‘need for his love’ as far as she’s concerned.

So about the aforementioned invitation, she is actually inviting him to become part of her life. And Kylie is convinced that if such transpires, her being will be elevated to another level, one which would obviously be unachievable without his presence.

Or perhaps most easily explained, the vocalist is trying to pick up the addressee. But she is not looking for a fling, nor do her feelings appear to be based on infatuation. Instead this is clearly someone whom she is looking to, most simply put, as a spouse.
