“D.A.N.C.E.” by Justice

There really isn’t much to say about Justice’s “D.A.N.C.E.” in terms of trying to ascertain its meaning. The singer is encouraging the addressee to dance. And in the process of doing so, he is apparently celebrating the unique way in which the person moves by referring to her style as “a mystery”.

You can view the lyrics, alternate interprations and sheet music for Justice's D.A.N.C.E. at Lyrics.org.

And we can presume that by and large he is speaking to a female addressee considering that the vocalist somewhat oddly refers to this individual as a former “PYT” in certain passages.

But it is also pretty obvious, taking the sole verse into consideration, that this song isn’t gender specific or discriminatory in any sort of way. Rather as with a true pop track, all listeners are being encouraged to carefreely dance.

It’s about Michael Jackson, clearly. It lists five of his songs by name throughout the song.

A tribute to MJ maybe but the song was released long before he died so i wouldn’t say it was in his memory.
