“Daft Punk is Playing at My House” is based on a vision of LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy. At the time, he was trying to actually put together a house party whereas Daft Punk would agree to play in his basement.
His plan was to create a documentary based on the event and all, in which LCD Soundsystem and another lesser known local act would also perform. And as we can ascertain from the lyrics, as envisioned despite being a house party it would have ideally proven to be one of the biggest draws in the ‘hood for the entire year.

The “LCD Soundsystem” Album
American band LCD Soundsystem released the rock and dance-punk song, Daft Punk Is Playing at My House, in 2005. The song was the band’s fifth single and the first track on their self-named and debut studio album, LCD Soundsytem.
DFA, Capitol Records, and EMI released the album proper on January 24, 2005. DFA produced the entire album for the band. It was recorded on Long View Farm studios and Plantain Recording House (New York City). The original tracklisting of the album contains sixteen songs, all of which were written by James Jeremiah Murphy. Songs on the album range from rock to electronica to dance-punk music genres.
LCD Soundsytem has received positive reviews and scores from numerous music critics. It is widely considered one of the greatest albums of the 2000s.
