“Fever” by Dua Lipa & Angele

Fever in this song does not connote the literal meaning of the word, but appears to be a strategy to get the singer’s love interest’s attention. As seen in the lyrics, the singer recalls how she was fine until she met this person and developed certain feelings.

What she describes as a fever in the chorus is most likely her feelings of attraction towards this person, hence her excuse for asking the guy to check, touch and kiss her. The second verse talks about how the singer thinks this ‘fever’ might disappear with time and how she may be wasting time on someone who is not interested. Yet, she continues to address her feelings for him as a kind of fever that only her love interest’s time and attention can cure. The post-chorus reveals her real intentions as she confesses that she actually doesn’t want this fever to go away.
