“Hell of a View” by Eric Church
On “Hell of a View”, Eric Church is addressing his significant other using the type of easy-to-follow narrative which country songs are famous for. He comes off as the type of dude that her parents never like, being dangerously free-spirited. But the girl has feeling him regardless, so they ran away together. Their modus operandi has been one more centered on enjoying the life they have been given as opposed to prioritizing income generation or even stability.
And at the end of the day, Eric is celebrating this lifestyle by saying “it’s a hell of a view”. In other words, they’ve had their challenges along the way. But overall the freedom and enjoyment of their lives, which “a view” is synonymous with, makes it all worth it.
Writing and Production
Three songwriters are credited with the composing of “Hell of a View”. The first is Eric Church and the others are: Casey Beathard and Monty Criswell. Music producer Jay Joyce took care of the production duties.
When did Eric Church release “Hell of a View”?
On the 2nd of October, 2020, Church officially released this as a single. Actually this was one of the singles from his seventh studio album. His top-40 country hit song “Stick That in Your Country Song” also appears on said album.
