“Hot” by Young Thug (ft. Gunna)

There’s really no better way to describe Young Thug’s “Hot” than it being based on the fun in the bedroom, wealth and violent tendencies present in the lives of the singers. And they are presenting all of these attributes in a favorable light.

Gunna’s verse is primarily about a female(s) he is involved with. He comments quite-explicitly concerning the types of fun they engage in, insinuating that she may even be someone tantamount to a dancer in an adult entertainment club. But later in the verse he seems to rather be talking about another female whom he is able to sensually exploit via her perceiving him as a way to break into the music industry. And throughout it all, he makes regular references to his affinity for expensive items, both in the name of pleasing his shorty and in regards to just showing out.

Meanwhile the primary topic of the first half of Young Thug’s verse is actually gun violence, specifically in regards to his own propensity to initiate it. That is to say that he’s “strapped up”, as in carrying gats.  And he seems to be eager to have a valid reason to use them.

The second half of his verse is dedicated to his wealth, with Thugger giving such a big shoutout to luxury-goods’ company Cartier that it almost reads like a paid endorsement. He also briefly alludes to the topics of bedroom fun and adult entertainment club dancers, basically expressing an affinity for both.

Accordingly the choruses and interlude of this song are also focused on the subjects of money, violence and women. And the title of this track is actually founded on one of the colloquial definitions of the word “hot” and basically alludes to the artists’ very-exciting lifestyle.
