“I’ll See You in My Dreams” by Bruce Springsteen

This is another track on “Letter to You” in which Bruce Springsteen is addressing a deceased love one. Another track in which he dealt with this same theme was “Last Man Standing“. Indeed by this point in the album, mortality has been established as one of the central themes of the project.

To put things into perspective, the Boss dropped this song at the ripe old age of 71. As such, not only has he lost a number of loved ones throughout his life’s journey, but he also seems to have come to grips with the idea of his own ending sooner or later. So when Springsteen tells the addressee that “I’ll see you in my dreams”, that’s equivalent to him saying that he looks forward to reuniting with this person(s) in the afterlife.

This is the closing track of “Letter to You”, which happens to be the Boss’s 20th studio album.

Springsteen and Ron Aniello produced this track, with Springsteen also serving as its writer

“I’ll See You in My Dreams” was put on the market by Columbia Records in October 2020.

Just saw him tonight and both of their photos came up on the screen for @ 3 minutes. He’s especially paying tribute to E Street band members who have passed.
I know he turns 74 in Sept but what a show he and the band put on! Love the Boss!
