“Moves Like Jagger” by Maroon 5 (ft. Christina Aguilera)

As indicated by its title, “Moves Like Jagger” serves, in part, as a shoutout to Mick Jagger, the legendary rock star who’s well known for possessing the ability to bust some unique, highly-energetic moves on stage.

However to note, this is a love song. And in that regard, Adam Levine putting forth that he “got them moves like Jagger” reads like a sex-based double entendre, if you will. He is acknowledging Mick’s dancing prowess alright, but he’s doing so primarily in the name of pointing to his own proficiency in bed.

But this piece is not entirely about sex, as in the second verse for instance the vocalist apparently goes about trying to convince an apprehensive addressee that she should have faith in his ability to lead her down the right romantic path.

So let’s conclude by saying that Adam does appear to have genuine feelings for the lady he’s singing to.  But those feelings, as relayed, are by and large sexual in nature.
