Number 1 Songs
The Billboard Hot 100 is, all things considered, the most important music chart in the entire global music industry. And it’s safe to say that it is the dream of virtually every professional recording musician, whether a major-label signee or independent artist, to one day top this coveted list.
The overwhelming majority of them, even many of our favorites in fact, never achieve this goal. So that makes dropping a Hot 100 chart topper an even greater accomplishment for those who realize it, not only for the headline musicians themselves but also the various behind-the-scenes’ people who helped put together a certified hit.
Some names, those of the more legendary musicians, will appear on this list numerous times. Others may pop up only once. But in either case, it can be guaranteed that having put out a song that actually made it to number 1 on the Hot 100 ranks amongst the key highlights in the career of any artist, whether great or small, who has actually done so.
