“Ooh Aah… Just a Little Bit” by Gina G

Any mature adult would recognize “Ooh Aah… Just a Little Bit” as a sex song. But there isn’t anything like direct NSFW lyrics contained therein, unless you consider the likes of “ooh aah” as such by implication.

You can view the lyrics, alternate interprations and sheet music for Gina G's Ooh Aah... Just a Little Bit at Lyrics.org.

More to the point, the sentiment that comes across is one of the vocalist being in love with the addressee. But beyond that, the listener can also tell that the physically intimate side of this relationship is evidently the singer’s favorite part of this romance. As such it reads as if no matter how much she gets, Gina still wants “a little bit more”.

Gina G’s “Fresh” Album

Ooh Aah… Just a Little Bit is the first song on Fresh, the debut album of Australian dance-pop singer and songwriter Gina G.

Eternal records and Warner Bros Inc. released it on March 4, 1997.

The album comprises twelve songs, with contributions and lyrics from several artists and songwriters, including Simon Tauber, Steve Rodway, Paul Barry, John Collins, Mark Taylor, Metro, William Colbourne and Harry Sommerdahl. American producer Steve Allen produced the album in its entirety.

Fresh peaked at number 53 on the Australian albums chart, number 40 on the Norwegian albums chart, number 87 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart, and number 12 on the U.K. albums chart. However, the album’s wide recognition was due to the smashing global hit “Ooh Aah… Just a Little Bit” and Gina G’s participation in the 1996 Eurovision Song Contest.

Fresh received a generally positive reception and reviews from numerous music critics after its release. AllMusic gave it a 4.5 out of 5-star rating, and Pop Rescue scored a 3 out of 5-star rating for the album. They all described it as an incredible record and a great masterpiece from a newcomer in the game.
