“Please Forgive Me” by Bryan Adams
This is a song with a twist. Yes, coming from Bryan Adams it is, as expected, a love song. As such, as the title suggests he is imploring his significant other to forgive him. However, this is not because he did something wrong in their relationship. Rather, he feels as if his crime may be over-loving her. Indeed it is insinuated from the onset that they have been together for a while. Yet he still loves her as if their romance were fresh.
So at the end of the day, of course the singer knows that he didn’t actually do anything wrong. And ultimately, the entire wording of the song is just meant to be an expression of his genuine, unending love for his lady.
“Please forgive me
I can’t stop loving you”
“Please Forgive Me” Facts
“Please Forgive Me” is actually the bonus track original that was added to Bryan Adams’ compilation album, “So Far So Good”. And it was the only actual single issued from that project, having come out with the rest of the album on 15 October 1993.
This is another hit work of art by songwriters Robert John “Mutt” Lange and Adams, with the pair also producing the track. And it proved to be one of Adams’ greater hits, topping the music charts in seven different countries. This includes the Canada Top Singles, i.e. Bryan’s homeland.
